
Those well enough were taught various crafts that they could take home in order to participate in the cottage industry that supplied products for the mission craft shop in support the mission work. One such patient was Stewart Ricks who was my neighbour when I lived on Sop's Island. His craft was ivory carving and he carved this little ivory husky dog for me as a souvenir. That was in 1946.
